COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program

Bremerton Housing Authority and the City of Bremerton have initiated a temporary change to the current Rental Assistance Program funded by BHA and the City.  Effective March 25, 2020, the income limits will broaden, serving those whose income falls between 30% and 80% of medium income. To be eligible for this program you must show proof of loss or reduction of income.

Available assistance:

  • Short-term funds to assist with payment of rent; BHA will pay 70% for the contract rent
    • Rental assistance will not exceed 3 months.
  • Eviction prevention; BHA will pay a total of 3 months rent.
    • Must have a pay or vacate notice.

Participants must live within the municipal boundaries of Bremerton and have a combined household income between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income.

There are no exceptions to these requirements. Must be 18 years of age or older.
